This ink drawing is inspired by the Mesoamerican fascination with the sacred jaguar. This handmade drawing was inspired by the jungles of Mesoamerica with lush vegetation, and by the oneiric mythologies of the ancients.
In Nahuatl, the sacred language of the Aztecs, "ozelotl" means "jaguar" and "cihuatl" means woman. This drawing was created to honor the sacred feminine aspect and its connection to nature, benevolent magic and mystery, combined with the warrior-like and powerful nature of the jaguar, represented here abstractly.
